Precin Residence II
This is the recreation room of a 2,300 sq. ft. residential finished basement. The concrete floor was acid-stained after scoring an 18" wall border around the perimeter of the room, the main stairway, and the 2 adjacent hallways, and offset rectangular tiles in the middle of the room. Scofield's "Weathered Bronze" acid stain was used for the tiles to make them look like slate. The sanding that was initially done to remove extensive paint spattering helped to create a great mottling effect from the stain that enhanced the slate-like appearance. Scofield's "Padre Brown" acid stain was used for the border.
